Trainees going through Basic Training or One Station Unit Training, #OSUT, experience their first Field Training Exercise #FTX called "The Hammer" in week 4. This #FTX challenges Trainees on all Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills they've learned during their transition from civilian into U.S. Army Soldier. Throughout the 72-hour culminating Field Training Exercise #FTX called the Forge Basic Trainees are tasked with engaging OPFOR, reacting to a mass casualty event, resupplying, and proving their proficiency in all Skill Level 1 Tasks they've learned to date.
