As Microsoft woos open source folks to embrace SQL Server, Oracle is hitting back by enticing Windows developers to MySQL.

This new Visual Studio plug-in is going to make life much easier for those that have to jump between a command line or MySQL Administrator in order to take care of their MySQL business.

The vendor is developing a plug-in for Visual Studio 2005 to allow Windows developers to rapidly build MySQL data-driven applications with Visual Studio, MySQL said.
