If you're running Windows 11, there’s a handy option tucked inside your system settings. Under “Mobile Devices,” you can link your Android phone by scanning a QR code with the “ Link to Windows ” app.

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 users will now be able to generate and share QR codes for links directly from the Windows 11 share window. No need to fiddle with third-party tools.

Microsoft announced today that it will retire the increasingly superfluous Mobile Plans app in Windows 11 in February 2026.
