OverDrive makes two ebook and audiobook borrowing apps used by libraries, OverDrive and Libby. The company will shut down OverDrive on May 1st and is helping libraries fully transition to Libby.

OverDrive, the service you can use to borrow ebooks, audiobooks and other digital media from your local library, school or university, is shutting down.

Readers will be directed to use the newer digital app Libby instead. The OverDrive app had been a part of readers’ workflows for many years, offering an easy way to access your digital library.
