While motion sensors may be a powerful home automation tool, they are not, however, perfect. One issue with traditional PIR motion sensors is the inability to detect a person when they are not moving.

This breadboard compatible package combines an ESP32-S2 module with a top-mounted PIR sensor, making it a turn key solution for all sorts of motion sensing projects.

PIR is also very power efficient, so it’s often used in battery-powered cameras, keeping them in a low-power non-recording state until the PIR sensor detects motion.
