In the latest Windows 10 Insider build, Microsoft has released a new version of Notepad that includes changes that bring it closer to what we have come to expect from modern text file editors.

It’s even easier to enable dark mode in Notepad on Windows 11. Alternatively, you can also enable and customize dark mode on your laptop, which will usually affect multiple apps across the OS.

The popular text editor Notepad would be updateable through the Microsoft Store with Windows 10 20H1 and the app has just landed in the Store, but there's a catch.

Microsoft is continuing to make incremental improvements to Windows 10 20H1, due out next year, with test build 18963.

The Windows 10 Notepad text editor will soon notify its users if they’re running an outdated version of the program.

As Windows Latest reports, the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build, known as version 20H1 Build 19041, contains three new entries in the Optional features app list.
