Just in time for the New Year, a new Raspbian release and a new NOOBS package. Here's how they installed and work on my two Raspberry Pi systems.

The Raspberry Pi is an inexpensive, hackable mini-computer designed to support open source software and enable students, hackers, and just about anyone to learn to use a computer.

NOOBS is the built-in operating system installer for Raspberry Pi. But if you already know which operating system you want to use, there's a quicker way to get your Pi up and running.

NOOBS is incredibly simple to use. Just burn the image to an SD card (our setup guide can help with that if you need it), and put the SD card into your Raspberry Pi.

Amid all the excitement of the Raspberry Pi Zero announcement, a new Raspbian release and the corresponding NOOBS package have been overlooked. Here's my take on them.
